BCMS Domestic Programs

1st through 4th-year BCMS

6 Weeks in Pittsburgh

The SLI BCMS program is being offered in an in-person format that can sometimes accommodate online, synchronous participants. Applicants should mention their preferred format in the statement of purpose on their application.

Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Serbian (BCMS) at the beginning, intermediate, advanced and 4th-year levels taught at the SLI provide the equivalent of one academic year's worth of study. Classes are taught on the University of Pittsburgh campus and meet Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 2:50 pm ET for 5 academic hours per day with a break for lunch. In addition to intensive language classes, students also attend BCMS films, lectures on politics and culture, and activities featuring Balkan culture on topics such as art, music, movement, and cuisine.
