1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th-Year Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian

6 Weeks in Pittsburgh

Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Serbian (BCMS) at the beginning, intermediate, advanced and 4th-year levels taught at the SLI provide the equivalent of one academic year's worth of study. SLI expects that in the summer of 2021, our programs will return to an in-person format on the main campus the University of Pittsburgh, with the added option to participate synchronously online.

SLI is now accepting applications to our BCMS program from those who plan to come to Pittsburgh and from learners who would like to participate online, synchronously via Zoom in the 2021 program. Pitt's classrooms are outfitted to accommodate remote participation in live classes on campus. Applicants may elect to decide later whether to attend in-person or online.

BCMS classes will meet Monday - Friday for 5 academic hours per day with a break for lunch. In addition to intensive language classes, students also attend BCMS films, lectures on politics and culture, and activities featuring Balkan culture on topics such as art, music, movement, and cuisine.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us about your language learning goals in BCMS for summer 2021!
