Announcement: The SLI Czech abroad program is not currently accepting applications for the 2021 program due to travel restrictions in place in connection with the COVID-19 mitigation effort and uncertainty surrounding the date when Pitt's study abroad programs will resume. This page will be updated should circumstances allow SLI to run its abroad program in Prague. Students interested in studying Czech in the summer are encouraged to apply to SLI's 6-week domestic program in Pittsburgh or online.

Students who have completed one academic year of Czech language study are eligible to participate in this abroad program held in Prague, Czech Republic. In Prague, students will engage in intensive language classes at Charles University from Monday - Friday and also participate in an extensive excursion program based on their interests and experience. Past excursion destinations have included the Unesco Cultural Heritage site, Kutná Hora; ŘÍP Mountain; the Karlštejn Castle; The Theresienstadt Museum of the Holocaust; and visits to many other local museums and landmarks in and around Prague.

Available to undergraduate and graduate Pitt & non-Pitt students, working professionals, and retirees who demonstrate preparedness for 2nd- and 3rd-year Czech language study

Housing: 

In Prague, students will live in university dorms. Students are responsible for their own meals and will enjoy eating at Prague's many affordable cafes.
