1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian classes taught at the SLI provide the equivalent of an academic year's worth of study. Classes are taught on the University of Pittsburgh campus and meet Monday - Friday from 9am to 3pm. In addition to intensive language classes, students attend BCS films, lectures on politics and culture, singing classes, and cooking classes.
Domestic and Hybrid Programs - BCS
Students may add a 4-week abroad component onto the 6-week domestic BCS program. The abroad portion takes place at the University of Donja Gorica in Podgorica, Montenegro. While there, students will continue their intensive language classes and also participate in an extensive excursion program including trips to Cetinje, Lovcen, Petrovac, the ancient Roman settlement of Duklja, and an optional trip to Dubrovnik. Upper-level students who would like to do only the 4-week abroad portion (and not the 6 week domestic portion) of the program should write to Kathleen Manukyan firstname.lastname@example.org.
