These are the East European Languages we offer:

tooltip Bosnian/Croatian/SerbianJune 5 – July 14, 2017. 6 credits; equivalent to one academic year of study. Located entirely at the University of Pittsburgh. Intensive language classes meet Monday-Friday 9am-3pm; includes supplemental activities such as films and lectures. Students may select to add an additional 4-week abroad component; please see the 10 credit option. Available to students at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year level. 1st-3rd Pittsburgh 6 weeks

Students may combine 6 weeks of B/C/S study at the University of Pittsburgh with a 4-week abroad component held in at the Institute of Foreign Languages in Podgorica, Montenegro. Intensive language classes meet Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. While in Pittsburgh students attend supplemental films, lectures, and cooking and singing classes; while in Podgorica, students participate in an extensive excursion program including trips to Cetinje, Lovcen, Petrovac, the ancient Roman settlement of Duklja, and an optional trip to Dubrovnik. While in Pittsburgh students attend supplemental films, lectures, and cooking and singing classes; while in Sofia, students participate in an extensive excursion program. Students who have completed one academic year of Bulgarian language study and who pass a pre-program placement test may elect to participate in the 4-week abroad program held at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia, Bulgaria. Intensive language classes meet Monday-Friday 9am-3pm, and students participate in an extensive excursion program. Available to students at the 2nd-year level. 2nd Sofia 4 weeks

While in Pittsburgh students attend supplemental films, lectures, and cooking and singing classes; while in Debrecen, students participate in extensive excursion and cultural programs. Students may combine 6 weeks of Polish study at the University of Pittsburgh with a 4-week abroad component held in in Krakow, Poland. Intensive language classes meet Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. While in Pittsburgh students attend supplemental films, lectures, and cooking and singing classes; while in Krakow, students participate in extensive cultural and excursion programs, including a three-day trip to Warsaw. Available to students at the 1st and 2nd-year of Polish study. 1st-2nd Pittsburgh + Krakow 10 weeks

Students who have completed one academic year of Polish language study and who pass a pre-program placement test may elect to participate in a 4- week abroad program held in Krakow, Poland; students who have completed two academic years of Polish language study and who pass a pre-program placement test may elect a 6-week abroad option. Intensive language classes meet Monday-Friday 9am-3pm, and students participate in an extensive excursion program in and around Krakow. Available to students at the 2nd and 3rd-year levels. 2nd-3rd Krakow 4 or 6 weeks
